Sweater in Red and Green

This is the Red and Green Striped Sweater I have designed.
It is hand knitted in Rowan wool of cherry red and forest green, the cuffs, welts, back detailing and neckline are knitted in ribx2. The main body of the sweater is knitted in stocking stitch with the pattern for the stripes in 2,4,6,8 row repeats in green.

The finished garment is lovely and soft and easy to wear. It is designed to slightly taper around the waist for a flattering fit and the stripes are a simple styling to give interest and relief.

The round neck is comfortable as well as practical, the sleeves are raglan with a slightly inset gather to give the garment a soft structured form and that designer feel.

I have enjoyed working on this commission project, it is great to plan, design and knit another sweater particularly at this time of year. But soon the boats will need our attention as we prepare for our sailing season, so small projects in my sail bag will be the norm, easy to take aboard for a day on the water.
I'm hoping to make some bags over the coming weeks hand knitted and  hand woven, so plenty more ideas are ready to lift from the note book and turn into textiles.
