Festive Cheer

As you know I love colour and at this time of the year it seems to me the perfect opportunity to spin a blended batt of glitter and sparkle!

My bobbins ready to ply, it is only a small amount but I will make it go a long way by using it a little at a time in my Saori weaving projects.

This week I have cast on with my DPN and am knitting a pair of Christmas socks- these will be a little treat for myself! -after knitting and weaving for my craft show, my stockists on the island and orders completed, it's good to just play at what I love

I'm enjoying the simplicity and rhythm of  knitting in a round, I'm using self patterning yarn and a mix of stocking and rib stitches. It's good to go back to basics, settle down and work on something that allows my mind to drift and  be creative while keeping my fingers active and useful making a practical wearable pair of socks for snuggling in front of the fire at Christmas.
Like most of you I have a long list of things to do before Christmas so I'm grabbing moments of "woolly makes" whenever I can.
Our Christmas Crafts at Quarr Abbey was another wonderful week, thank you to all who popped in to see us. My work sold very well and  lots of my knitting and weaving pieces found new homes. It was very pleasing to see that Skipper's wood turning items sold well too.
So while I knit; I have many new ideas popping into my head as well as considering carefully and developing long term plans for SWH and Wrightturned  I will be making announcements at the beginning of 2015.
Next year there will be plenty Spinning, Weaving and Handknits to talk to you about and we plan to do a lot more sailing  than we managed this year!
Thank you to my readers out there in blogland, wherever you are in the world it is so lovely to be able to share with you my woolly adventures and my sailing days out on the water. I hope you find something of interest in my posts.
I wish you a very Happy Christmas time and all Good Wishes for a wonderful New Year
love Sue
