At the end of last year I mentioned that there would be new exciting challenges and developments for SWH and Wright-Turned and that I would be making announcements at the beginning of 2015.
Well the first of these is to tell you about our new online shop on Etsy.
At the Woollen Tree we bring together our two crafts in wood and wool. Do please pop over and take a look. It is a work in progress and over the coming weeks we shall be stocking the shop with original pieces which we hope you will enjoy as much as we have enjoyed creating and making them.
We are working with natural materials and combining some of our designs to offer you simple items of beauty and rustic charm such as Hand Turned, Hand Knitted and Hand Woven Accessories and Homeware.

And a little more about what we do;
Sue of SWH (sue wright handknits) is a hand knitter, weaver and spinner, designing her own work.
- I love to use combinations of colour and yarn types to produce unique waistcoats along with knitted and woven bags, hats, scarves, warmers and socks. I also enjoy creating pieces of work on my loom such as, cushions, table runners, throws and small rugs. You can buy my work directly from me through my online Folksy shop as well as craft outlets/shops on the Isle of Wight.

-Much of my work is made from "green" wood; therefore over time as it dries out naturally it may distort; this can lead to interesting shapes and adds to its uniqueness.

Congratulations on starting out your Etsy shop. It looks like it's off to a great start so far. I've personally had better results on Ebay and YouTube as a tandem, rather than on Etsy on its own, but there are a bunch of people in my social circles who are kicking butt on Etsy, so maybe it's me.

Congratulations on your new shop. I think it's great that the two of you have put your crafts together in one harmonious place. I like the name Woolen Tree. That's unique. I have heard of silk trees but never one made of wool. This will definitely be a new favorite of mine.

I can not wait to see the products that you come up with. I have been trying to pick up the art of knitting. You can make some truly spectacular things by knitting. My goal is to sew some really lovely sweaters. Sizing is the tricky part. The first sweater I am working on is supposed to be over sized.
